What to expect on the stadium tour
You don’t need to be a soccer player or Ajax fan to go on a tour of Johan Cruyff Stadium in Amsterdam.
During the stadium tour, you will walk through the players’ tunnel like a pro footballer to where it all happens – the pitch, the dug-outs, and the main stand.
You will also visit the Ajax locker and the visitors’ locker room and see where your favorite players get ready for the action on the field.
At Ajax Gallery of Fame, you will meet the past and present Ajax heroes. Here, you will also learn about Johan Cruyff, the greatest footballer produced by the Netherlands.
Do not miss out on the virtual reality experience, which lets you step into the shoes of a professional football player and experience the roar of the crowd in a packed stadium.
During your guided football stadium tour, you will also explore the mixed zone and the press room.
Note: The Ajax dressing room is not part of the stadium tour during the Ajax team’s away games. When the Ajax club plays at home, the stadium tour itself is not available.
Important: It is currently not possible to book Johan Cruyff Stadium tour tickets in advance. However, if you get the I Amsterdam City Card, you are guaranteed an entry at a 25% discount.
Stadium Tour timings
Johan Cruyff Arena tours are available from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm, every day of the week.
On weekdays, guided tours depart every half hour with a maximum of 25 people per tour.
On Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays, self-guided tours depart every five minutes.
Since these days are crowded, the guides don’t lead the tours but position themselves near the major exhibits and help answer visitor queries.
When the Ajax team plays matches at home, the tours aren’t available.
This is why it is better to book Johan Cruyff Stadium tickets online – you won’t land up at the venue only to be turned away.
How long does it take?
On weekdays, the guided Johan Cruyff Stadium tour lasts 75 minutes.
On weekends and public holidays, since visitors see the exhibits on their own, they can stay on for as long as they want.
The VIP tour of Johan Cruyff Stadium lasts two hours, including a drink in the skybox to relax.

Why buying online is better
Tourists can buy Johan Cruyff Arena stadium tour tickets at the venue on the day of their visit or book them online, which is what we recommend.
The attraction often gets fully booked, especially on the weekends. When you buy your tickets in advance, you are assured of a spot at your preferred time and date.
When you buy tickets online, you also skip the long lines at the ticket counter.
If you land up at the venue on an Ajax match day, you can’t explore the stadium because the tour gets canceled. When you book online, you can avoid this disappointment.
Tickets at the venue are €2 costlier than the online tickets.
How online tickets work
