Things to know before booking
- The Vatican requires a strict dress code. Shoulders and knees must be covered for both men and women.
- When you visit the Colosseum, remember to bring enough water and wear comfortable shoes, as this attraction requires a lot of walking.
- The names of the participants should match their ID or passport to the names given while booking the tour.
- On Wednesdays, the tour doesn’t visit St. Peter’s Basilica due to an audience blessing being held there. Instead, it will cover other areas of the Vatican Museums in place of the Basilica.
- Arrive early to pass through mandatory security screenings at both locations.
- The best time to visit would be in the mornings when the attractions are less crowded, especially for the Vatican Museums.
- Both sites attempt to accommodate visitors with mobility issues but they are not fully wheelchair-friendly. The Vatican Museums have some wheelchair-accessible routes, and the Colosseum has an elevator to upper levels, but certain areas may pose challenges. It’s advisable to check with the tour provider for detailed accessibility information and alternative routes.
- Flash photography is not allowed inside the Sistine Chapel, but you can take pictures elsewhere. At the Trevi Fountain, tripods and large equipment are discouraged due to crowd control.
