Restaurants at the Belvedere Palace – Belvedere Palace cafe, etc

Palace of Belvedere has three cafes—Schloss Café and Cafe-Bistro Menagerie are in the Upper Belvedere, while Parkcafé is in the Lower Belvedere. 

The Lucy Bar at Belvedere 21 is another place to sip refreshing cocktails and munch some snacks after your day at the museums.

Since visitors cannot carry food and drinks into the museums, the palace cafes are the only option.

The cafes inside the Belvedere Palace are easily accessible to all ticket and non-ticket holders. 

Even though you can visit just the cafes, we highly recommend you also try out the palaces. The Upper Belvedere Palace’s interiors are accessible only through a ticket, so make sure to purchase the Guided tour KLIMT at the BELVEDERE to indulge yourself in this monument where history and art meet.

Note: All the restaurants accept walk-ins, it is advisable to make proper reservations at the restaurants and cafes mentioned here to avoid last-minute disappointments.

Schloss Café

If you are looking for a cafe with a view of the Belvedere’s main Palace gardens, you should head to the Schloss Café.

It is located on the ground floor of the Upper Belvedere Palace, and you can stop by before or after your visit to the museum or the Palace Gardens.

The Schloss Café matches the palace’s ambiance with grand chandeliers, paintings, and views of the beautiful gardens surrounding the building.

Austrian pastries and traditional coffee are their specialties, and vegan options are available as well.

Parkcafé

The Lower Belvedere Palace also houses a cafe called the Parkcafé.

You can dine at this cafe as a part of your gallery visit or after a casual stroll in the Palace Gardens.

The Parkcafé offers scrumptious Austrian delicacies with a mix of Italian and Mediterranean flavors.

Cafe-Bistro Menagerie

This is a cozy corner tucked away in the Upper Belvedere Palace, offering pocket-friendly breakfast and lunch options for museum visitors.

This cafe gives a royal appearance with its red walls, chandeliers, sconces, and paintings.

Menagerie’s food options are all about traditional European cuisine.

Leaf salad with grilled goat cheese and beef burger is the most recommended dish this place offers.

It is open throughout the year from 10 am to 6 pm.

The Upper Belvedere Palace ticket gives you access to the museum and galleries, after which you can ease your legs and get some refreshments at the Menagerie.

Lucy Bar

The sophisticated environment and pleasant setting of the Lucy Bar offer a casual spot for you to loosen up after a long day at the Palace and museums.

It is located in the Contemporary Art Museum Belvedere 21, serving coffee, casual cocktails, and snacks.

Named after renowned artist Egon Schiele’s mother, this bar, with its fashionable interiors, complements the contemporary theme of Belvedere 21.

This bar is located within the museum’s building, so you can ask the staff if you face any difficulties finding the exact location.

The bar is open from 11 am to 6 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. On Thursdays, it opens at 11 am and closes at 9 pm. The bar stays closed on Mondays.

The Belvedere Place is located in the heart of the city, so there are plenty of places to experiment with your taste buds.

The cafes inside the palace might sometimes get too crowded, and you have good restaurants just a stone’s throw away from the Belvedere Palace.

Art Corner Cafe & Restaurant

Art Corner serves delicious Greek food and is known for its vegan-friendly and gluten-free options.

You can find the Art Corner, with its bright blue and white decor and prominent name boards, right across the street from the Upper Belvedere Palace’s entrance.

Huber’s Essen & Trinken

This compact restaurant, opposite to the Lower Belvedere Palace’s entrance, is known for its great service and some amazing Austrian wines. 

The Huber’s offers some of the best authentic Austrian cuisine with a blend of Mediterranean dishes.

This place is noteworthy for its dishes, which are made from local and seasonal ingredients. Its menu changes every month.

Huber’s is open from Monday to Friday, 10 am to 10 pm.

If you are fond of coffee, you should try the cozy cafe called Coffee & Friends. They are known for their gourmet coffee, sourced from Central and South America, and have their own roasting process. This cafe is just a minute’s walk away from Huber’s.

Stöckl im Park

A heavenly location filled with old trees, sunshine, delectable dishes, and rich beer from their own brewery is a perfect pit stop after visiting the Belvedere.

You can reach the restaurant by walking 350 mts (4 min) to the right from the Upper Belvedere Palace’s entrance.

This restaurant is placed next to the historic Belvedere Gardens, offering you a view of them through their outdoor seating and the large windows in the restaurant as you relish yourself with their light beers and hearty meals. 

Pork ribs and the Stöckl beer sampler from their bräuhaus are a definite do-not-miss.
