What to expect at Umadum Ferris Wheel

The Munich Umadum Ferris Wheel—also called Umadum München—features 27 air-conditioned, all-round glazing, and giddiness-free Zeppelin gondolas that promise an experience unlike any other.

The wheel takes around 30 minutes to complete one full revolution, during which you can click photos of the scenes below, view the Allianz Arena and the Bavarian Alps, and even marvel at Stadtalm’s urban nature project.

Umadum’s rides are open from morning to midnight, 365 days a year, with its sunset rides being the most popular. 

Each of these gondolas can carry up to 16 passengers.

A VIP gondola also serves a veal sausage breakfast if you are keen on enjoying Munich’s panorama in true Bavarian style.

Where to book tickets

How to reach the Umadum Ferris Wheel

The Munich Umadum Ferris Wheel is close to Munich’s TonHalle in the creative quarter of Werksviertel-Mitte, Atelierstrasse.

You can reach the attraction by public or private transport.

By Train

Ostbahnhof is the nearest railway station to the Ferris Wheel, and it takes just 5 minutes to reach the attraction from the station. 

You can also opt for Line 19 of the U5 Ostbahnhof Tram to reach Umadum.

By Bus

The Ostbahnhof bus stop is about an 8-minute walk from the attraction. 

You can hop onto MetroBuses 54, 55, and 62, as well as Ostbahnhof City buses 100, 145, 155, and 187, to reach the Munich Ferris Wheel. 

There’s also an evening and night bus service—Friedenstraße Night buses 43, 44, and 55—heading to and returning from the attraction.

By Car

If you are traveling by car, turn on your Google Maps and get started. 

Two paid parking lots, including an underground one, are available next to the attraction.

The Munich wheel is open Tuesday to Saturday between 12 pm and 9.30 pm. The last ride is at 9.30 pm.

On Sundays, the attraction is open from 12 pm to 8.30 pm. The last ride on Sundays is at 8.30 pm.

The Umadum takes approximately 30 minutes to complete a rotation. 

Best time to go on the Umadum Ferris Wheel

The best time to go on the Umadum Ferris Wheel is during sunset hours.

If you time your visit well, you could be at the top of the Munich wheel as the sun goes down, painting the sky a bright orange.
