What to expect at Atlantis Submarine Kona

A glimpse into Atlantis submarine Kona Tours.

Be transported out to the shimmering waters of Kona on a boat and let the professionals help you board the submarine and then descend the ladder into its voluminous chambers.

Gently descend into the depths of the sea, and let serenity and wonder wash over your senses as you lay eyes upon an unspoiled world that, for centuries, remained beyond the reach even of indigenous Hawaiians themselves.

Peer into the circular portholes and prepare to be mesmerized by an exhibition of colors against a sprawling blue backdrop as you discover an 18,000-year-old, 25-acre fringing coral reef teeming with vibrant corals and schools of fish.

Settle comfortably into your air-conditioned underwater transport as a live guide gives you insights into the wonders of the underwater world.

Witness small manini, convict tang, moray eels, giant trevally, and big-eyed emperor fish slowly cruise above the reef, and if you are really lucky, you might even see a shark.

Drift past the sunken Kanehoe naval vessel and see how this doomed ship has become an artificial reef and how this underwater relic has become home to an array of diverse marine life.

Be a part of sustainable tourism on a battery-powered submarine and partake only in observation, leaving the marine environment untouched in all other ways.

Avail audio narrations in Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, and Korean as you flit past Kona’s isolated treasures of coral gardens and aquatic life over a period of 45 minutes.

WOW experience!

Our family of six enjoyed it thoroughly! The staff and crew were great. The view was amazing. Definitely glad we got to experience this together. Felt safe and comfortable for everyone. Give it a try, explore and learn the beauty below.

Saw all kinds of fish and two shipwrecks!

Soooooo amazingly cool!!! There were only 4 of us on the tour (slow week) we went down over 100 feet.

Saw all kinds of fish and two shipwrecks (unfortunately no sharks, lol)! The crew from the shore to the sun were amazing! We got to sit in the captain’s chair and take a pic with him (they don’t usually do that, but since there were only 4 of us, they did) and had the best time!

Middleboro, TripAdvisor

Friendly, knowledgeable, and safe

We took this trip shortly after the Titan submersible accident, so some of the students in my group were understandably very nervous about going underwater in the submarine. However, this group allayed their fears in a professional yet friendly manner. All of our students participated!
